Alan Arkin Biography
Alan Wolf Arkin (March 26, 1934 – June 29, 2023) was an American actor and filmmaker known for his versatile performances in film, television, and stage. Arkin began his career as a member of the sketch comedy group The Second City before making his mark on Broadway, winning a Tony Award for his performance in the play Enter Laughing. He gained widespread recognition with his roles in films such as The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming, Wait Until Dark, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, and Catch-22. Arkin's talent and versatility earned him numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Tony Award, as well as nominations for six Emmy Awards.
