Alan King Biography
Alan King (born Irwin Alan Kniberg; December 26, 1927 – May 9, 2004) was an American actor and comedian known for his biting wit and often angry humorous rants. King became well known as a Jewish comedian and satirist. He appeared in a number of films and television shows, showcasing his versatility as a serious actor. King also wrote several books, produced films, and appeared in plays. Born in New York City to Russian Jewish immigrant parents, King grew up in the Lower East Side and later moved to Brooklyn. His early experiences in tough neighborhoods shaped his sense of humor, and he honed his skills performing impersonations on street corners. King's talent was recognized at a young age, and he was invited to join a nationwide tour after performing on a radio program at the age of 14.
