Alan Muraoka Biography
Alan Muraoka (born August 10, 1962) is a Japanese American actor and director best known for his role as Alan, the current owner of Hooper's Store, on the long-running television show Sesame Street. He has been part of the cast since 1998. Muraoka is also a dedicated community activist and currently serves on the board of directors at the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice, an LGBTQIA safe-space and educational center. Born in Mission Hills, Los Angeles, CA, Muraoka's passion for performing began at a young age. He studied at the Theater Department of UCLA and won the Carol Burnett Musical Theatre Award for his talent. Muraoka has also performed in various Walt Disney World productions during his college years.
