Alan Sues Biography
Alan Grigsby Sues (March 7, 1926 – December 1, 2011) was an American actor and comedian best known for his roles on the television series Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In from 1968 to 1973. Sues had a campy and outrageous on-screen persona and played various recurring characters on the show, including 'Big Al the Sportscaster', 'Uncle Al the Kiddies' Pal', and 'Jo Anne Worley' after Worley's departure. Born in Ross, California, Sues served in the U.S. Army during World War II and used his GI Bill benefits to attend acting lessons at the Pasadena Playhouse. He made his Broadway debut in the play Tea and Sympathy, directed by Elia Kazan.
