Alan Zweibel (born May 20, 1950) is an American television writer, author, playwright, and screenwriter. He is widely known as an original writer for Saturday Night Live and has won five Emmy Awards and two Writers Guild of America Awards for his work in television. Zweibel co-created and produced the television show It's Garry Shandling's Show and has also worked on Curb Your Enthusiasm. He has collaborated with Billy Crystal on the Tony Award-winning production 700 Sundays and co-wrote and produced the film Here Today. Zweibel has written 11 books, including Laugh Lines: My Life Helping Funny People Be Funnier and The Other Shulman: A Novel, which won the 2006 Thurber Prize for American Humor. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, Zweibel continues to be a prominent figure in American pop culture.
