Alaqua Cox (born February 14, 1997) is a Native American actress known for her role as Maya Lopez / Echo in the Disney+ series Hawkeye (2021). She was born and raised in the Menominee Indian Reservation in Keshena, Wisconsin, and is of the Menominee and Mohican nation. Cox attended the Wisconsin School for the Deaf, where she played basketball and volleyball. She is an amputee with a prosthetic leg. Cox made her acting debut in Hawkeye and received praise for her casting as a deaf actress. She will also star as the protagonist in the spin-off series Echo (2024).
