Albert Hammond Jr. (born Hammond III; April 9, 1980) is an American musician known for his role as rhythm and lead guitarist in the rock band The Strokes. He also occasionally plays keyboards and sings backing vocals. In addition to his work with the band, Hammond Jr. has released several solo albums including 'Yours to Keep' (2006), '¿Cómo Te Llama?' (2008), 'AHJ' (2013), 'Momentary Masters' (2015), and 'Francis Trouble' (2018). Born in Los Angeles, California, Hammond Jr. is the son of singer-songwriter Albert Hammond and former model Claudia Fernández. He is of mixed Gibraltarian, Argentine, Austrian, and Peruvian descent and began playing guitar at the age of nine.
