Aleks Paunovic

Aleks Paunovic (born June 29, 1969) is a Canadian actor known for his roles in various TV series and films. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and comes from a family with a strong boxing background. His father is of Serbian descent and his mother is of Croatian ancestry. Growing up, Paunovic was a champion boxer until a shoulder injury forced him to end his career. Prior to his acting career, he was a member of a rock band. Some of his notable roles include prospector Jim McAllister in Arctic Air, Julius in Van Helsing, and Wygar Oak in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. He has also appeared in the dystopian thriller series Snowpiercer. Paunovic has been an advocate for the Red Cross/Impact Anti-Bullying Campaign, having been a victim of bullying during his childhood.
