Alex Ferns is a Scottish actor and television personality, known for his roles in popular TV shows. He gained notoriety for his portrayal of Trevor Morgan, considered Britain's most-hated soap villain, in the long-running series EastEnders from 2000 to 2002. Ferns also played Rick Harper in the BBC Scotland soap opera, River City, from 2017 to 2018. In 2019, he received a BAFTA Scotland Award for his performance as coal miner Andrei Glukhov in the miniseries Chernobyl. Ferns has a diverse background, having grown up in South Africa and serving in the South African Defence Force. He later studied drama at the University of Cape Town before pursuing his acting career in the UK.
