Alexander Robert Hirsch (born June 18, 1985) is an American storyboard artist, writer, producer, and voice actor. He is best known as the creator of the Disney Channel series Gravity Falls, where he provided the voices of Grunkle Stan, Soos, and Bill Cipher, among others. Hirsch's notable accomplishments include earning BAFTA and Annie Awards for Gravity Falls. He is also a successful author, co-authoring Gravity Falls: Journal 3, which became a No. 1 New York Times Best Seller. In 2018, Hirsch wrote Gravity Falls: Lost Legends, another book that appeared on The New York Times Best Seller list. Hirsch's childhood experiences in a cabin during summers served as inspiration for Gravity Falls. He graduated from Piedmont High School and pursued a successful career in the entertainment industry.
