Alex Norton Biography
Alexander Hugh Norton (born 27 January 1950) is a Scottish actor known for his roles in various TV shows and films. He gained recognition for his portrayal of DCI Matt Burke in the STV detective drama series Taggart and Eric Baird in the BBC Two sitcom Two Doors Down. Norton has also appeared in other popular TV shows including Extremely Dangerous, Waterloo Road, and Renford Rejects. In addition to his television work, Norton has acted in successful films such as Braveheart, Local Hero, and Les Misérables. Norton discovered his passion for acting at the age of fourteen and pursued it despite his father's disapproval. He started his acting career with a role in the TV series Dr. Finlay's Casebook.
