Alexander Fehling (born 29 March 1981) is a German film and stage actor. He is best known for portraying Staff Sgt. Wilhelm in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (2009) and Jonas Hollander in the Showtime series Homeland. Fehling was born in East Berlin, East Germany and studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts. He received the Förderpreis Deutscher Film award for his role in And Along Come Tourists (2006) and the OE Hasse Prize for his theater performance in Schneewittchen. Fehling is recognized for his portrayal of German Master Sgt. Wilhelm in Inglourious Basterds, although he is incorrectly referred to as a Staff Sgt in the English captions.
