Alexander Karim, born Alexander Kimbugwe Karim on 26 May 1976 in Uppsala, Sweden, is a Swedish actor and writer. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Frank Nordling on TV3's Advokaten, becoming the first brown actor to play a lead character in a primetime drama in Sweden. Karim's family, originally from Uganda, sought refuge in Sweden in 1975 to escape president Idi Amin's regime. He has two brothers, Othman 'Osmond' Karim and Baker Karim, who are both directors. After attending high school, Karim moved to the United States and studied acting at City College in Los Angeles. He later returned to Sweden and began his career in film.
