Alfred Dennis

Alfred Hugh Dennis (31 July 1924 – 15 December 2019) was an Australian politician and former member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. Born in Bondi and educated at Blacktown Public School, Dennis served with the Second Australian Imperial Force during World War II. After his repatriation, he trained at Yanco Experimental Farm and operated a dairy farm near Richmond while also working as a farming contractor. Dennis was elected as a Liberal member for the electorate of Blacktown in 1959, despite it being a traditionally safe Labor seat. However, he later resigned to sit as an independent in 1962. Additionally, he served as an alderman on the Windsor Council and was involved in various agricultural organizations.
