Alicia Augello Cook, better known as Alicia Keys, is an American singer and songwriter. Born on January 25, 1981, she began composing songs at the age of 12 and signed with Columbia Records at 15. After a dispute with the label, she moved to Arista Records and released her debut album, Songs in A Minor, in 2001. The album sold over 12 million copies worldwide and featured the hit single 'Fallin'.' Keys received five Grammy Awards in 2002, a record for a female artist at the time. Her second album, The Diary of Alicia Keys, was also a success, selling eight million copies and earning her four more Grammy Awards. Throughout her career, Keys has continued to produce chart-topping music and has collaborated with notable artists like Usher.
