Amanda Burton, born on October 10, 1956, is a Northern Irish actress known for her impressive body of work. She gained recognition for her role as Heather Haversham in the Channel 4 soap opera Brookside from 1982 to 1986. Burton's acting prowess continued to shine through her portrayal of Beth Glover in the ITV drama series Peak Practice from 1993 to 1995. She achieved widespread acclaim for her role as Sam Ryan in the BBC crime drama series Silent Witness from 1996 to 2004 and in 2022. Additionally, Burton captivated audiences as Clare Blake in the ITV crime drama series The Commander from 2003 to 2008. Her other notable TV appearances include Karen Fisher in Waterloo Road (2010-2011) and Katherine Maguire in Marcella (2020). Burton was born in Derry, Northern Ireland, and had a humble upbringing in the rural townland of Ballougry. She attended Ballougry Primary School and later moved to England.
