Amanda S. C. Gorman (born March 7, 1998) is an American poet and activist known for her work addressing issues of oppression, feminism, race, and the African diaspora. In 2015, she published her poetry book 'The One for Whom Food Is Not Enough'. Gorman gained international recognition in 2021 for her poem 'The Hill We Climb', which she delivered at the inauguration of Joe Biden. This performance propelled her to fame and two of her books became best-sellers. Gorman was named the first National Youth Poet Laureate, and her talent earned her a professional management contract. She was also featured in Time magazine's 100 Next list and became the first poet to perform at the Super Bowl, delivering her poem 'Chorus of the Captains' at Super Bowl LV.
