Amanda Tapping Biography
Amanda Tapping is a British-Canadian actress and director, born on August 28, 1965, in Rochford, Essex, England. At the age of three, she relocated with her family to Ontario, Canada. Tapping gained recognition for her portrayal of Samantha Carter in the Canadian–American military science fiction TV series Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe. She also starred as Helen Magnus in the science fiction-fantasy TV series Sanctuary. Tapping attended North Toronto Collegiate Institute and later pursued drama at the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Arts. She appeared in various stage productions, commercials, and had roles in TV shows like The Outer Limits and The X-Files.
