Amit Anil Chandra Shah (born October 22, 1964) is an Indian politician who currently serves as the 31st Minister of Home Affairs and the 1st Minister of Co-operation of India. He is also known for his role as the 10th President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from 2014 to 2020 and as the chairman of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) since 2014. Shah was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament, in the 2019 Indian general elections. Prior to that, he served in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Parliament, from 2017 to 2019. Known as a chief strategist of the BJP and a close aide to Narendra Modi, Shah also served as a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly and held various ministerial positions in the state government.
