Amna Nawaz

Amna Nawaz is an American broadcast journalist known for her work as a co-anchor of the PBS NewsHour. Born on September 18, 1979, in Virginia, she comes from a family with a journalism background. Nawaz began her career in journalism after a fellowship at ABC News, where she decided to shift her career focus from becoming a lawyer. Prior to joining PBS, she worked as an anchor and correspondent at ABC News and NBC News. Throughout her career, Nawaz has been recognized for her exceptional work and has received several awards, including an Emmy Award and a Society for Features Journalism award. She holds a bachelor's degree in politics, philosophy, and economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in comparative politics from the London School of Economics.
