Amr El-Bayoumi (born 1965) is an Egyptian-American actor and voice artist. He is best known for his roles in the films Captain Phillips, The Fifth Estate, and Psychosis. El-Bayoumi was born in 1965 in Alexandria, Egypt and completed his primary education at Bailey Elementary School in East Lansing, Michigan. He is currently based in Washington DC and New York City. After graduating with a degree in law, he moved to Los Angeles and worked as a chemical engineer. El-Bayoumi has performed in several productions in the US, England, and Egypt. He made his feature film debut in the 2013 film The Fifth Estate and also appeared in the American blockbuster Captain Phillips.
