Amy Bailey
Amy Bailey is a Jamaican educator, social worker, and women's rights advocate. Born on 27th November 1895 in Walderston, Manchester Parish, Jamaica, she was the fifth child of Anne and William Frederick Bailey. Amy co-founded the aid organization Save the Children in Jamaica and played a vital role in introducing birth control to the island. Throughout her career, she received numerous honors and awards, including the Order of the British Empire, the Jamaican Order of Distinction, and the Marcus Garvey Award for Excellence in 1988. Amy Bailey passed away on 3rd October 1990, and just before her death, she was honored with the Order of Jamaica.
