Anamaria Marinca (born 1 April 1978) is a Romanian actress. She gained recognition for her performance in the Channel 4 film 'Sex Traffic,' winning the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. Marinca is best known for her role in '4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days,' receiving critical acclaim and numerous awards. She was nominated for the European Film Award, London Film Critics Circle Award, Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award, and National Society of Film Critics Award, all for Best Actress. In 2008, she was honored with the Shooting Stars Award at the Berlin International Film Festival. Marinca's upbringing was influenced by her mother's classical violin skills and her father's career as a theatre professor.
