Andra Day

Andra Day, born Cassandra Monique Batie on December 30, 1984, is an American R&B and soul singer, songwriter, and actress. She gained recognition with the release of her debut album, Cheers to the Fall, in 2015. The album received critical acclaim and earned her nominations for Best R&B Album and Best R&B Performance at the Grammy Awards. Day's powerful single, 'Rise Up', also garnered attention and she performed it on The View, leading to a Daytime Emmy Award nomination. In 2021, Day made her acting debut in Lee Daniels' biopic, The United States vs. Billie Holiday, where she portrays Billie Holiday. Her performance in the film earned her widespread acclaim.
