Andrew Levitas (born September 4, 1977) is an American painter, sculptor, filmmaker, writer, producer, photographer, and restaurateur. He was born in New York City and attended Horace Mann School and Dalton School. Levitas graduated from New York University's Gallatin School in 2000. He has been a prominent figure in the New York and European art scenes for over two decades. In 2004, Levitas produced his 'Metalwork Experiment,' creating photographic sculptures using a process that involves transferring photographs onto custom transparencies melted onto hand-detailed sheets. His installations consist of multi-paneled interlocking metal sheets. Levitas has also made notable contributions in film and photography.
