Andrew Michael Sullivan (born August 10, 1963) is a British-American author, editor, and blogger. He is known for his work as a political commentator and as a former editor of The New Republic. Sullivan has authored or edited six books and started his political blog, The Daily Dish, in 2000. Over the years, he moved his blog to various platforms including Time, The Atlantic, The Daily Beast, and finally an independent subscription-based format. In 2015, Sullivan retired from blogging but later became a writer-at-large at New York from 2016 to 2020. He launched his newsletter, The Weekly Dish, in July 2020. Sullivan's conservatism is influenced by his Catholic background and the ideas of Michael Oakeshott, a British political philosopher.
