Andy Blankenbuehler (born March 7, 1970) is an American dancer, choreographer, and director known for his work primarily in stage and concert productions. With five Tony Award nominations, he has won three times for his exceptional choreography in the musicals In the Heights (2008), Hamilton (2016), and Bandstand (2017). Blankenbuehler's other notable Broadway choreography credits include 9 to 5 and Bring it On: The Musical, as well as the 2016 revival of Cats. In 2018, he was honored with the Kennedy Center Honor for his contributions to Hamilton. He has also ventured into film, choreographing the movie adaptation of Cats. Blankenbuehler recently showcased his talents as the choreographer, director, and co-writer of the new musical Only Gold at MCC Theater.
