Andy English

Andy English (born 1956) is an English wood-engraver and educator known for his pioneering use of the Internet to teach a wider audience about wood-engraving. Born in Denver, Norfolk, England, in 1956, English studied Geology at the University of Reading before becoming a respected educator in Cambridge from 1979 to 2006. Self-taught as an artist, he discovered his passion for engraving on endgrain wood in 1991 and it quickly became his main artistic output. English was elected to the Society of Wood Engravers in 1997 and is also a member of the Cambridge Drawing Society. He continues to share his knowledge and expertise through his online teaching efforts.
