Aneirin Hughes Biography
Aneirin Hughes, born Aneurin Hughes on 8 May 1958, is a Welsh actor and singer. He is best known for his role as Chief Superintendent Brian Prosser in the BBC4 Welsh police drama Hinterland. Hughes received critical acclaim for his performance as Delme in the Welsh language film Cameleon, which earned him a Best Actor BAFTA Cymru (or BAFTA Wales) award in 1997. Hughes began his acting career in 1994 in the BBC Wales soap opera Pobol y Cwm and has since appeared in various television shows including Blood on the Dole, Casualty, and Family Affairs. Born in Aberystwyth, Hughes studied music at the University College of Wales and later attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
