Angela Down Biography
Angela Down (born 15 June 1946) is an English actress known for her roles in various television dramas and films. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Avril, a cockney art student, in the BBC drama programme Take Three Girls during the first series. Down also played Princess Maria in the 15-hour BBC adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace (1972), Sylvia Pankhurst in the BBC's Shoulder to Shoulder (1974), Joyce Bradley in Frederick Raphael's The Glittering Prizes (1976), and Myra Bawne in the 1980 BBC drama serial We, the Accused. She has appeared in films such as The Looking Glass War (1970), Mahler (1974), and Emma (1996). Angela Down is married to actor Tim Hardy.
