Angela Pleasence

Angela Pleasence is an English actress known for her work in both film and television. Born on September 30, 1941 in Chapeltown, Sheffield, West Riding of Yorkshire, Pleasence comes from a family of actors, with her father being the renowned actor Donald Pleasence. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and made her stage debut in 1964. Pleasence gained recognition for her portrayal of Catherine Howard in the 1970 BBC serial The Six Wives of Henry VIII. Throughout the 1970s, she appeared in various horror films such as From Beyond the Grave and Symptoms. In the 1980s and 1990s, Pleasence worked extensively in British miniseries and television productions. Her film credits include The Search for John Gissing, Gangs of New York, and The Gigolos.
