Angie Martinez

Angie Martinez, born on January 9, 1971, is an American radio personality, podcaster, entrepreneur, former rapper, and actress. Known as 'The Voice of New York,' she had a successful twenty-eight year career at New York City station Hot 97 (WQHT) before joining Power 105.1 (WWPR) in 2014. Martinez gained attention for her appearance on the remix for Lil' Kim's 'Not Tonight' and released two albums, 'Up Close and Personal' (2001) and 'Animal House' (2002), before retiring from music in 2003. She started her FM broadcasting career at Hot 97 in 1986, working as DJ Funkmaster Flex's protégé. Martinez has since become a respected figure in the radio industry.
