    Ann Patchett Biography
    Ann Patchett (born December 2, 1963) is an American author known for her critically acclaimed novels. She received the 2002 PEN/Faulkner Award and the Orange Prize for Fiction for her novel Bel Canto. Some of her other notable works include The Patron Saint of Liars, Taft, The Magician's Assistant, Run, State of Wonder, Commonwealth, and The Dutch House, which was a finalist for the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Patchett was born on December 2, 1963 in Los Angeles, California and grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. She attended St. Bernard Academy, a private Catholic school, and later pursued a successful career as a novelist.
