She portrayed Thelma Frye on the NBC sitcom Amen from 1986 to 1991, and Dee Baxter on the WB sitcom The Wayans Bros. from 1995 to 1999. Horsford had notable dramatic roles on the FX crime drama The Shield as A.D.A. Beth Encardi, and on the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful as Vivienne Avant. She received Daytime Emmy nominations for her performances on The Bold and the Beautiful. Horsford has also appeared in several movies, including Friday, Friday After Next, Set It Off, and A Madea Christmas. She was born in Harlem, New York City in 1948.
