Anne Frances Murphy, born December 19, 1986, is a Canadian actress known for her role as Alexis Rose in the sitcom Schitt's Creek (2015–2020), which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe nomination. She has since appeared in the dark comedy series Kevin Can F**k Himself (2021–2022), the second season of Russian Doll (2022), and the anthology series Black Mirror (2023). Murphy also lent her voice to the character Chelsea the mermaid in the DreamWorks Animation film Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken (2023). Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Murphy attended Elmwood School and later graduated with a degree in theatre performance from Concordia University.
