She gained recognition for her portrayal of Christine in the HBO series The Leftovers and Sophie Hicks in the Netflix comedy-drama Alex Strangelove. Annie also appeared in the 'School Spirit' episode of the Hulu anthology series Into the Dark. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Annie Q. Riegel grew up between Beijing and New York City, speaking both Mandarin Chinese and English with her family. She attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School and later pursued finance and film studies at New York University Stern School of Business and Tisch School of the Arts. Annie Q.
