Ansel Elgort (born March 14, 1994) is an American actor and singer. He gained recognition for his supporting role in the horror film Carrie (2013) and his portrayal of a teenage cancer patient in The Fault in Our Stars (2014). Elgort also appeared in The Divergent Series (2014–2016). In 2017, he played the lead role in Baby Driver, earning a Golden Globe Award nomination. Elgort starred as Tony in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story (2021) and currently portrays Jake Adelstein in the crime series Tokyo Vice (2022). Born in New York City, Elgort is the son of fashion photographer Arthur Elgort and opera director Grethe Barrett Holby. He is of Russian Jewish descent.
