Anthony LaPaglia is an Australian actor known for his versatile performances in film and television. Born on January 31, 1959, in Adelaide, South Australia, he has garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards throughout his career. LaPaglia has won three AACTA Awards, including Best Actor in a Leading Role for his work in 'Lantana' (2001) and 'Balibo' (2009), as well as Best Actor in a Supporting Role for 'Nitram' (2021). He gained widespread recognition for his role as Jack Malone on the American TV series 'Without a Trace' (2002-2009), earning him a Golden Globe Award in 2004. LaPaglia has also appeared in notable films such as 'Betsy's Wedding' (1990), 'Empire Records' (1995), 'Happy Feet' (2006), and 'Annabelle: Creation' (2017). In addition, he received a Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway revival of 'A View from the Bridge' (1997) and a Primetime Emmy Award for his role on the sitcom 'Frasier' (2000-2004).
