Anthony Michael Hall (born April 14, 1968) is an American actor best known for his roles in John Hughes' teen films, including Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Weird Science. To avoid being typecast, Hall diversified his roles and joined the cast of Saturday Night Live (1985–1986). He also appeared in films like Out of Bounds (1986), Johnny Be Good (1988), Edward Scissorhands (1990), and Six Degrees of Separation (1993). In the 1999 TV film Pirates of Silicon Valley, Hall portrayed Microsoft's Bill Gates. From 2002 to 2007, he starred in the USA Network series The Dead Zone. Since 2019, Hall has appeared in ABC's The Goldbergs. He also stars in the slasher film Halloween Kills (2021).
