Anthony Zerbe Biography
Anthony Zerbe is an American actor known for his notable film roles in various genres. He portrayed Matthias, the post-apocalyptic cult leader, in the 1971 film adaptation of 'I Am Legend,' titled 'The Omega Man.' Zerbe also appeared as an Irish Catholic coal miner in 'The Molly Maguires' (1970), a corrupt gambler in 'Farewell, My Lovely,' and the leper colony chief Toussaint in 'Papillon' (1973). He played diverse characters including Abner Devereaux in 'Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park,' villain Milton Krest in 'Licence to Kill,' and Admiral Dougherty in 'Star Trek: Insurrection.' Zerbe's television credits include roles in 'The Dead Zone' and 'The Matrix Reloaded' and 'The Matrix Revolutions.' Born on May 20, 1936, in Long Beach, California, Zerbe attended Newport Harbor High School and later graduated from Pomona College in Claremont, California in 1958.
