Anton Lesser is a British actor known for his roles in various movies and TV shows. He has appeared as Qyburn in the HBO series Game of Thrones, Thomas More in Wolf Hall, Harold Macmillan in The Crown, Clement Attlee in A United Kingdom, Chief Superintendent Bright in Endeavour, and Major Partagaz in Star Wars: Andor. Lesser is an associate of the Royal Shakespeare Company and has performed numerous Shakespearean roles on stage and television. Born in Birmingham, he attended Moseley Grammar School and the University of Liverpool. He later studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Lesser is of Jewish background and has received the Bancroft Gold Medal for being the most promising actor of his year upon graduation from RADA.
