Antonio Fargas Biography
Antonio Juan Fargas is an American actor known for his roles in 1970s blaxploitation and comedy movies, as well as his portrayal as Huggy Bear in the 1970s TV series Starsky & Hutch. Born on August 14, 1946, in New York City, Fargas is the son of Mildred and Manuel Fargas and grew up in Spanish Harlem. He graduated from Fashion Industries High School in 1965. Fargas gained recognition for his breakout role in the comedy film Putney Swope (1969) and went on to star in blaxploitation movies such as Across 110th Street (1972) and Foxy Brown (1974). He also appeared in the TV show All My Children from 1982 to 1987.
