Antonio Te Maioha

Antonio Te Maioha (born 1 February 1970) is a New Zealand television and film actor. He gained international recognition for his role as Barca, the Beast of Carthage, in the television series Spartacus: Blood and Sand and its prequel Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. Te Maioha was born in Auckland and raised in Hastings, New Zealand. He is of Maori descent, with ancestry from the Ngapuhi and Waikato tribes. Prior to his acting career, Te Maioha started as a street performer and later attended the Toi Whakaari Drama School. He has also been involved in Maori theatre projects and performed in the play Waiora.
