Ralph Anwan Glover, born on May 5, 1971, is an American rapper, actor, model, DJ, and founding member of the D.C.-based go-go band 'BackYard Band' (BYB). Glover gained local fame as a teenager in 1992 as one of the founding members of the band. He is known for his role as Slim Charles in the HBO crime-drama television series 'The Wire'. Glover and the BackYard Band have performed extensively in the D.C. area and have toured East Coast cities including New York, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Miami. They have released five albums, with 'Hood Related' debuting at number 69 on the Billboard Magazine R&B albums chart on November 22, 1997.
