Ariane Labed is a Greek-French actress and film director, born on May 8, 1984. She gained recognition for her role in the film Attenberg, which earned her the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. Labed also appeared in Helen Edmundson's film Mary Magdalene in 2018. Born to French parents, she spent her early years in Athens, Greece, before moving to Germany and eventually settling in France. Labed studied theater at the University of Provence and co-founded the theater group VASISTAS with Greek director Argyro Chioti. In addition to her film work, Labed has acted at the National Theater of Greece.
