Ari'el Stachel (born July 29, 1991) is an American actor. He gained recognition for his role in the musical The Band's Visit, for which he won the 2018 Tony Award for Featured Actor. Stachel was born and raised in Berkeley, California. His father, Aaron Yeshayahu, is of Yemenite Jewish descent, while his mother, Laura Stachel, is Ashkenazi Jewish. Growing up, Stachel struggled with his ethnic heritage and chose to use his mother's last name to distance himself from his father's Middle Eastern background. Despite these challenges, Stachel's talent and dedication earned him critical acclaim in the world of theater.
