Ariel Winter Workman, born on January 28, 1998, is an American actress and voice actress. She gained fame for her role as Alex Dunphy in the ABC comedy series Modern Family. Winter and her co-stars received four consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series. She also voiced characters in popular shows like Sofia the First and Phineas and Ferb, and played Penny Peterson in the animated film Mr. Peabody & Sherman. Winter comes from a diverse background, with Greek and German ancestry. She has two older siblings who are also actors. Winter started her career at a young age, with her first job being a Cool Whip commercial at just four years old.
