Arleen Frances Sorkin (October 14, 1955 – August 24, 2023) was an American actress, screenwriter, television presenter, and comedian. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Calliope Jones on the NBC daytime serial Days of Our Lives. Sorkin was also known as the real-life inspiration and voice behind the iconic DC Comics character Harley Quinn, co-created by her friend Paul Dini for Batman: The Animated Series. Born in Washington, D.C., on October 14, 1955, Sorkin began her career in cabaret before finding success in television. With her wacky yet lovable performances, she became a beloved figure in the entertainment industry. Sorkin's contribution to the world of acting and comedy will be remembered for years to come.
