Artem Chigvintsev

Artem Vladimirovich Chigvintsev (born June 12, 1982) is a Russian professional dancer specializing in Latin dancing. He gained recognition as a cast member of Burn the Floor, performing on both Broadway and the West End in 2009. Chigvintsev joined the popular dance competition show Strictly Come Dancing in 2010, winning the show in his first year with celebrity partner Kara Tointon. Born in Izhevsk, Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, Chigvintsev later moved to the United States in 2003 and began dancing with champion ballroom dancer Giselle Peacock. He also appeared as a contestant on the first series of So You Think You Can Dance, and returned as a guest choreographer for season two.
