Arthur Darvill, born Thomas Arthur Darvill on June 17, 1982, is an English actor. He gained recognition for his role as Rory Williams, a companion of the Eleventh Doctor, in the hit TV series Doctor Who from 2010 to 2012. Darvill also portrayed Rip Hunter in the television series Legends of Tomorrow from 2016 to 2018 and in 2021. Another notable role was as Rev. Paul Coates in the crime drama Broadchurch from 2013 to 2017. In addition to his TV work, Darvill has showcased his talent on stage, playing Curley in the West End revival of Oklahoma! and winning the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. With a background in the arts, his mother Ellie is an actress and his father Nigel is a renowned Hammond organ player.
